Captain Mantell – The Ending Hour
New sigle and new video
“Devil is not scary anymore”
The first single from Bliss, the fifth album by Captain Mantell,
offers a reinterpretation of the myth of the crossroad
where some of the early blues men
would have made a pact with the devil, exchanging
their souls with success.
Catapulted into a two-dimensional world,
now it’s up to the Captain’s crew to face this challenge.
And the final is up to you!
Watch until the end of the video and decide with a single click
how the story ends!
Directed by Vittorio De Marin.

THE new ALBUM FROM CAPTAIN MANTELL
COMING OUT ON
November 10th 2014
“…after chasing a UFO
after years lost in Space
after crashing back on a mutated Earth
with 2167 hours of Flight History
now following his roots to find Comfort
ladies and gentlemen: Captain Mantell…”
Bliss is the title of the fifth album by Captain Mantell,
trio leaded by Tommaso Mantelli, homonymn of
Captain Thomas Mantell (first pilot died chasing an UFO).
A work inspired by the roots of rock with a definitely new sound for the band.
The compositive matrix remains pop and yet capable of original solutions.
The range extends to wider horizons also thanks to the introduction of saxophone
that evokes new suggestions.
More than ever in Bliss, the band’s comfort in composition wanders
as a freaked out time machine through the history of rock
jumping from King Crimson to Jack White, from the Beatles to Nirvana,
from John Zorn to Jeff Buckley ..
Powerful rhythmics by Admiral Dix, Sergeant Zags’s experimental saxophone
and guitar riffs from the golden age create a perfect sound foundation
for Captain Mantell’s voice, expressive and effective both in ballad and rock songs.
Gloomy and disenchanted the lyrics are poetically
spoiled by a vein of hope in the pursuit of bliss.
Bliss as an alienation from modern life style
is symbolically represented through the spontaneity
getting over the strict rules of electronic synth
which controlled the sound of the crew so far.
Recorded and mixed in 2014 in Italy, between Abruzzo and Veneto,
the album includes the pleasing presence of guests such as
Liam McKahey (Liam McKahey and the Bodies, Cousteau)
who delivers a sublime vocal track on Side On,
Nicola Manzan (Bologna Violenta, Menace, Ulan Bator) puts his touch
in the arrangement of some songs,
Bleeding Eyes with their violence and DJ Muto and his madness.
Published by a collective of indie labels formed by
Dischi Bervisti, Overdrive Rec. Dreamingorilla Rec, Xnot You Xme.
Release date: November 10th 2014.
